Anyone know who La Tech currently has on their non-conf schedule for 2006?

I know La Tech likes to open up against some of the Big Boys...and wondered if they had someone scheduled yet for Opening Weekend 2006?

Thanks in advance!

We open at Florida and at Kansas, and then later in the year we have North Texas for homecoming for our OOC schedule. *Maybe* the Florida game will be interesting with an even more improved defense and running an Urban Meyer-esque offense. Kansas is definitely winnable, and there's a reason we have North Texas for homecoming. This is MUCH better than the last few years, especially last year with Auburn, Miami, and Tennessee. At least we did get ULL last year though we about blew that game, what a heart attack. They would've called that the Cajun Miracle had they beat us.

I'm asking info for 2006 (aka next year).

What is your opening non-conf schedule for next year?

Thanks.

"and there's a reason we have North Texas for homecoming"

Getting embarrassed? Figuring homecoming wins are overrated? Losing to a team within two time zones? Help me out here cuz for the life of me I can't see why you'd schedule a loss for homecoming. 03-confused

I forget who our opener is in 2006, might be North Texas. I know we play Cal that year. The only other "for sure" OOC scheduled future games that I know of are LSU in '07 and '08.

Also, we scheduled North Texas because they've been wantin' to play us for quite some time and pleeeeeease, they can't beat anything that isn't a Sun Belt team. What do you have against Tech anyway? I was a bit harsh on slammin' them, so I apologize, but this isn't the Sun Belt board. We also have some of the best linebackers we could possibly have, so I don't care so much about their running game. It should be fun, but we'll beat the Mean Green.

Here's a website that lists future OOC schedules:

We'll see... we have some Kansas fans on our board now at LaTech, but they're bein' cool. Some of our guys are actually bein' jerks to them, but I'm going to enjoy beating NT because of the idiots that have spammed our board to death with all the Sun Belt crap recently. I looked at the Sun Belt board and I see you all wishing Tech could drop to that level, but it ain't happenin'. Just win and get into the WAC, MWC, or C-USA and then we'll talk.

Those predictions are nothing, most of the time. North Texas needs to win some non-Sun Belt games. I don't want to keep bashing North Texas though, I don't hate you guys. I wish you luck in the future (except against LaTech). Hell, I wish ya'll were in the WAC or any other conference besides Sun Belt WITH us. You'd make a good, close rival. I'm glad we play ya'll this year and I hope we can in the future, since we lost our Texas WAC friends to the CUSA. I'm curious as to what your record vs. the State of Louisiana will be this year, since I noticed you play all but one of our Div. 1A teams(Tulane). ULL should be a good game for you, you should whip ULM, I hope you score some points on LSU(good luck, they're rough), and our game will be good.
