blast from the past story (of no real importance)
Hard to believe but Ricky Cottrill's brother Noah, a 2010 recruit verballed as a rising sophomore to WVU.

The big boys started watching him in the 7th grade.

Not only is this kid top 100 in the '10 ranking but apparently way, way up there. He was being recruited by FL, L'ville, Cincy, etc.

Below is from a WVU Scout site.

BTW, Ricky playED (past tense) at Eastern.

Sorry I could have a better post, like "Eastern got a verbal from the next Shaq of the MAC. Details to follow..." 03-melodramatic

BTW, Noah, don't forget the books... 03-shhhh

*********

Cottrill has been around great players throughout his basketball development. Older brother Ricky plays collegiately at Eastern Michigan, and he has been on AAU teams that travel the country. Even pickup games in his home area were populated with great talent.

“When I was in the seventh grade I was playing in open gyms with Patrick Patterson, O.J. Mayo, Chris Early, and guys like that. A coach from Florida saw me at one of those, and the recruiting really began then.”
