Update on Trevor Anderson
Trevor's appeal was denied. He has four choices: transfer to EMU; transfer to Wayne State; transfer to Michigan; pay his own way next year and transfer to Michigan State.

I doubt Michigan wants him, he won't attend Wayne State, and it's unlikely he will pay to attend Michigan State next year.

Eastern Michigan is looking like the preferred option at this point. I hope it works out for you. Trevor is an outstanding football player.

RE: Update on Trevor Anderson
I feel like I walked in the middle of a movie and told possible outcomes but outcomes to what?

Is this kid one of those kids who have graduated but still have eligiblity left and can play another year?

Something else???

Why the schools mentioned and not others?[/i]

RE: Update on Trevor Anderson
Dennis is probably ready to beat me with a wet noddle for not knowing that this kid is from Detroit PSL (Crockett) and signed with UC a few years ago and is apparently transferring back to Michigan.

Hence, MSU, UofM, EMU and Wayne State make sense.

The kid obviously has options if he can't transfer to MSU. He can be a transfer sitout at EMU or be immediately eligible at D-II Wayne State. Walkon at UofM?

I assume he projects as MAC caliber starter.

RE: Update on Trevor Anderson
I guess he projects as possible all-MAC DL as he projects as all-Big East!!! 03-cloud9

The following is from the UC website:

2006: Received the John Pease Award as UC's most outstanding defensive lineman... four-time winner of team's Defensive Player of the Week Award for his performances vs. Pittsburgh, Miami (Ohio), Syracuse and Connecticut... paced the squad with six sacks and second with 13 tackles for loss... seventh in tackles (44)...totaled six hits, including two sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss at Connecticut...shared a tackle for loss for a safety vs. USF and forced a fumble which was returned for a touchdown in the same game...registered six tackles vs. Pittsburgh and at Virginia Tech...notched 2.5 TFL and a sack vs. Miami (Ohio)...a preseason first team All-BIG EAST selection by Phil Steele's College Football... garnered his second varsity award.

RE: Update on Trevor Anderson
Anderson is listed as a 6'2" 255# DE. EMU would be a good choice for him because they have little depth on the DL.

RE: Update on Trevor Anderson
Again Dennis will probably beat me with a wet noodle as I should know this stuff, but as we have 2 DBs who dropped or were dropped from the program, then I assume there is no reason why we can't put him on scholarship UNLESS all of the new recruit scholarships for the '07 season were given out.

My question and I'm vague on it:

IF EMU gave out say 25 scholarships and all qualify then could we give a scholarship to a transfer sitout? I assume a transfer counts against the Feb. ('07) new recruit scholarship limit.

I'd guess the question is moot, as I doubt all the kids Eastern signed in Feb. would be expected to make it academically or show up or whatever. Every year a couple don't. If so, then they would have scholarships left over for a transfer, walk-on, etc.
