The WCWS
In case you haven't noticed, the Women's College World Series is now playing and its some exciting stuff. Course it helps that my 'Cats are in the mix for the first time since 1986.

I enjoy watching the women play softball. Anyone with a set of balls is welcome to try and his one of those pitches! I watched the Arizona Oregon game Thursday.

The kids in the Little League World Series hit from a foot closer and the balls are coming at 60-70 miles an hour, and curve balls that have a lot more movement then those pitches. All it takes is getting used to the release point and those LL kids could hit a ball thats almost twice the size as they swing at now.

Did anyone read about the pitcher from Texas (Osterman?) struck out 18 of the 21 batters in a complete game shutout? I don't care if it's women's softball, that is still an amazing feat.

I remember listening to a broadcast when they were saying when the top women pitchers bring it it is like trying to hit a 95mph fastball. Go ahead and give it a try.

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. I've seen softball pitchers make some college baseball hitters look like fools. Softball pitchers can still put some movement on the ball that make it more difficult to hit than a baseball.

Making contact with a softball at 95mph would be hard. But not as hard as hitting a baseball.

Go up against Roger Clemens for 10 pitches and go up against a softball pitcher. See which one you hit, the most, or at all. My money is that you will hit the softball.

i'm sure they're talented and it looks tough to hit, but softabll is boring because the mound is too close. there are hardly ever any runs scored. it's nearly impossible to mount a rally.
