Find out by asking questions in alternation with the other team, who vandalized what school and what they did .

Wooohoooo! Good job guys 04-bow 04-bow

I wish I could take some credit, but I've been in the lab all day and couldn't contribute at all :( Besides, I probably would have just screwed things up

Ok, maybe I am overlooking it, but show me where you solved either of SD's parts.

so you are telling me they guessed on 7 different items and guessed correctly? The odds of that seem pretty remote.

Great team effort JD & Lucy!!

Yes we won with an educated guess. Pac 10 was pretty close to solving the puzzle so ask him.

:D

Like I said Pac,,,,,,,we were screwed because we could not get the chart to work. They were able to deduce the other answers because they had the chart. Such is life.

It's called process of elimination and making use of the chart, which is a typical chart used in logic problem solving.

Take the Vandalize Stadium deed and I'll walk you through our questioning & you can go through & find each post:

First we found out it wasn't rick, he watered a landmark
Then it wasn't DT2, he was at the president's house
Then we found out that JJ did the dump, so not JJ
SL did graffiti, so not SL
Pac10 did the mascot, so not pac10
Then we asked if SD did the stadium, answer was no, so that meant SSJT vandalized the stadium and SD pimped the sorority.

Judging by pac10's line of questioning on the locations, we figured y'all had the same idea we did & we went ahead and took a gamble & guessed on the last 5 locations we needed. We happened to be right.

the chart did not really even come into play to be completely honest. At least it had absolutely no impact on how we figured out the puzzle.

All it allowed us to do was to make Xs to cross off guesses that didn't work.

And I ended up making my own chart in Excel instead of using the one GTS provided because I use Excel all day at work and could toggle back & forth between my spreadsheets when I checked the challenge's progress... (I'm such a geek)

FWIW, I do logic problems from crossword puzzle books all the time for fun. This was a textbook-style logic problem.

Rick:

Y'all were definitely ahead of us with filling in the chart -- there was no doubt about that. And, when pac10 started nailing the locations, we knew that it was only a matter of a couple more questions before y'all would be finished.

We had to make a guess before you guys did. We saw what pac10 was doing, and we saw that the two schools we'd figured out (Wake and Elon) matched up with the same acts for our team members as they did for your's.

It was an educated guess that the locations would be the same for both teams, and we were lucky to get it right.

Good game....

-JD

I understand..it really is not that big a deal. I thought we had to make the guess in the thread. My fault. Good game.

if they schools were attached to the acts and the same for both schools, why did we have to guess them? Wasn't that just a waste of time. Why create a game where the acts and the schools are the same for each team?
