I did give you the #2 status which is debatable. Then rickheel starts up some stuff as well as others here, so please don't dish it out if you can't take it.

We beat them in a real game when it counted 1998, remember! Your last title came on a mistake by a Chris Webber in 1993, remember, other than that you guys can't even get past the final four. And you didn't even make the tournment this year did you 8-20, ha ha!

Your posts on this thread have turned from a UK-UNC comparison (which I actually enjoyed at the beginning) to simple UNC-bashing. Keep away from the latter and you'll be fine by me....

Is it also safe to say that K is a choker in the NCAA's. That is the label folks give Dean.... he has lost 6 games in the final four.....

Um, as much as I hate to say it neither of you guys were even close to UCLA in the team of the century battle. As soon as you include that clarifier "century" in there it makes those numerous championships UCLA won relevant under any criteria you wish to examine this by.

And for the record, I hate UCLA more than any school out there, but I can't abandon logic to claim they aren't the #1 basketball program of all time. UK needs about another 5 championships to catch up to UCLA and make this a close race.

I see your point LK, but the fact that UCLA's dominance came in such a short span in the realm of an entire century has to come into play somewhere. They didn't have quite the continued dominance of UNC and UK.

Also, UCLA dominated during years when only one team could come out of the ACC. So, while UNC and State and Maryland and Duke were beating each other up in the ACC tournament, UCLA was relatively cakewalking to the NCAA tournament. Granted they still had one of the best teams -- if not the best -- for all those years....

Yes it is. They are both great coaches in their own right, although currently Dean still has more tournament wins.

FYI, Dean was 59-35 against Duke.

K has a losing record against both Dean and UNC.
