As far as Mississippi and West, there is no doubt they wanted him. In fact, several of my friends from there were taunting me about stealing our coach. Of course, their opinion changed when West, among others, turned it down and they ended up with coach "Only an Assistant". I will tell you this, we would love to have Orgeron as a recruiting coordinator when the hype dies down and he's sent packing.

The pregnant woman at the Texas game decided to walk over to the student section with her husband who happened to be wearing plenty of burnt orange and a Texas hat. Any student section in the country is usually heavily liquored and shouting all kinds of obscenities at anything wearing the wrong colors. The dumb one was the woman's idiot husband for taking her with him to the game without a ticket for an actual seat, and then trying to find a spot in the student section cheering for the opposing team.

Then again, I'm sure at Memphis, none of the students drink or ever say anything that would offend opposing fans for coming to their section during a big game. I've been near plenty of student sections when wearing the wrong colors. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's a bad idea.

P.S. You may beat us this year, but I guarantee it won't be because of lack of preparation or motivation like it has been in the past. Tommy gets his boys up to play, but they won't be any more motivated than the Rebels this year.

PyramidGhost Wrote:Yes, you had 7 winning seasons in the lsat 8.  Of course, last year wasn't one of them, and this year isn't looking too promising.  New bad coach and same bad QB.  Key ingredients for another losing season.

It's a good thing that Ole Miss fans can live in the past, because the future of the program isn't looking any better than the present.

Rather than buy season tickets, maybe you all can work on getting some of the old seasons put on dvd and just watch those.

You call The Citadel a patsy when Auburn plays them, but you need them for your SOS when you play them.  You also forgot to mention that your program was one of the patsies that Auburn rolled over last year.  If a 4-7 team isn't a patsy, what is?

Maybe Coach O will keep with the strategy of losing as many as you can so you can screw your opponents in the polls.  It worked for you all last year.

Ole Miss won't be good again until Eli has kids.
Now I understand the smack about the past two football season's, but how can you tell me we have a bad coach when he hasn't coached a game yet? In fact, I think Coach O has a lot of upside for Rebels to be positive about. To be a good college football coach I personally think it takes 5 things:

Discipline: Coach O fired two coaches in the first month who messed up and has kicked off two players before they saw the practice field. A friend of mine who is on the team told me that he runs a much tighter ship than Cut, so I don't want to hear about his past on this point. He obviously doesn't play around anymore.

Being able to recruit: Coach O recruited the classes that won back to back national titles and has his foot in the door with recruits all over the country that previously wouldn't have known where Oxford was.

Being able to motivate: Coach O's players at USC loved him, so did the fans, and all I hear to this point is that our players can't wait to compete for him. If nothing else, no one can say he won't be able to do this better than Cut.

Preparing your team for gameday: If his work ethic to this point is any indicator, then like before, if nothing else he'll do this better than Cut.

Coaching the X's and O's on gameday: No one knows at this point, so it's pointless arguing this until after Sept. 5. However, we do know he has solid assisstants around him and he spent his most recent years learning from Pete Carroll as his right hand man. That can't hurt.

My point is that while I don't know how he'll fare. The evidence suggests he's somebody for our rivals to be concerned about in the future. No flame here, just stating my opinion.
