volunteer, I've been reading how phil has been thinking about going to a 2 QB system. Do you think that this will happen or is this out of the question?

personally, I think rick did outstanding last year in ainge's absence...I only saw him make two bad plays the entire season against Notre Dame( and that was his 1st actual playing time)

It worked well last year because we had 2 very different QB's in Ainge and Schaffer.

Now we have Ainge and Clausen, and they are pretty similar. I dunno what hes gonna do. Plus they have that other fresh. Johnathan Crompton.. Its gonna be wild.

I just couldnt believe, that ainge schaffer and clausen were all lefties!! Crompton throws with his right i believe.

edit.. yes clausen was awesome. UT lost that game cause my buddy, the biggest UT fan in the world had his wedding during the game and I didnt get to watch it. that jerk!

It would be more like, our homecoming game 03-razz

David Vs Goliath, exept with a different ending.

And its not really a rivalry until you win a couple, right now its just a ass whoopin. 19-1 overall .. :(

its going to suck to lose your homecoming game. to Memphis.

David vs. Goliath?? more like (utk)Tyson vs. Holyfield(Memphis) - you have to cheat to compete.

you and the runts keep repeating your mantra, meanwhile the U of M has bigger and better things to aspire to be.

and, if we win this year, it WILL be a couple. when we win next year (at home), that'll be 3 out of the last 5 (i think?), but then you'll cancel the series so you can keep talking about historical records, and tradition. and how we're not good enough to be considered a rival.

then, when you get slotted for the LB as the 5th or 6th $ec team (assuming the LB changes its affiliatiions), and we are CUSA conference champs, and we beat you AGAIN in the postseason, on National TV, would it then be fair to say its a "rivalry?"

i thought that when in-state teams played each other, and one team tries to buyout the contract b/c of fear of losing to the other, that was pretty good grounds for a rivalry (see ole mrs., loserville). Especially when the (VERY RECENT) victory for Memphis was against the "Almighty Manning." Especially when they have played each other so many times (in both major sports), and when considering that the talent levels are converging (as evidenced by the more recent series records and Deangelo's Heisman candidacy, Dwimps recently established offensive records, etc.).

you don't claim us as a rival, but you sure scream like he!! when we win. get those lungs ready for Nov. and keep repeating:

Memphis is not good enough to be a rival. If they beat us again we'll cancel.

so you're calling for a clean sweep of the SEC now.
who did louisville replace you with...HMMMMMM, I think it was the UNC tar heals. sounds like a better deal to me, but according to you, you are nationally known after going to those two outstanding bowls.

just like the movie RUDY, they hoisted your coach off the field after he reach his climax in his career.

Volunteer, you can't use the overall record on this board. You can just go back 2 years. All the other years don't count. We have a 42-10-2 record against them but that don't count because they own us.

19-1 ... you will not beat UT. Its gonna be just like our homecoming game against you in 2001, we will cover the spread.

And Reb32- i know, silly memphis fans

Yeah he's really defending freedom there with that idiotic mask on.

Oh and as far as the cross, maybe if the Webels didn't feel the need to live in the past, I wouldn't feel the need to remind them of the past they celebrated for so long.

Don't worry, I'll get bored with it and move on to a new source of anguish for the Runts... in a few days.

Actually Ainge throws right-handed. Crompton is a righ-hander also. BTW, the Vols lead the series with Memphis 18-1 (with 10 games in Knoxville, 9 in Memphis). Just thought I'd point those out...Sept. 3rd needs to hurry up and get here.

I think the Admin at UT counts last yr as a win, since they effectively avoided an ass whipping in Memphis.
That would put you up 19-1. 04-cheers
