You guys have one of your best teams in history, play Troy for the conf lead at homecoming and barely reach a third of seating capacity?
Your players DESERVE BETTER.
shortbob, SBC and USM fan.

Really was quite pathetic to see only 12k in the stands for ULM for probably the biggest game they've ever had as a D1-A school. Hopefully the fans in Monroe will realize what's goin on at ULM and starting supporting the team.

Does this mean you guys are jealous and upset that they are the best team in the conference?

Not jealous at all. Actually happy for them that they are undefeated in the Belt. But when you only draw 12k for the biggest game in 10 years at the school, something is wrong.

If USM would join the Belt we would be 8 members (the NCAA requirement) and could afford to boot ULM.

If USM joined (fat chance) it would make 9 football members.

Not if ULM were gone per shortbob's request.

I've been going to ULM games since the early 70's and we've NEVER, EVER had good attendance for afternoon games. It doesn't matter how important the game is. It's been rehashed over and over on our board about the reasons for it but that's how it is. When we had the afternoon games for the 1-AA playoffs, the attendance was lousy...even for our championship season in '87 and yet we would have several crowds of 20,000+ for the night games the same year. Go figure.

I don't know why we keep scheduling games at that time of day. The FIU game on Nov. 5th is set for 3 pm and we'll see how that goes.

Despite the attendance at the Troy game, our season average is at 15,800 over 3 home games.

I wonder how bad the attendance will be when the Cajuns travel up to Monroe two days after Thanksgiving for a 2:30 kickoff and on TV. Dare we say 7000?
