Tonight's final 13-10 Troy over North Texas.
This leaves several questions to be answered:
Is this the end of the road for the Mean Green's run as conference winner?
With North Texas getting more experience under their freshman quaterback's belt, will they lose another conference game?
As for Troy, GREAT WIN! They have a heck of a defense, it should keep them in most Sun Belt games, but their offense was pretty lacking. Can Troy run the table?
I don't think this win makes Troy the heirs to the throne
necessarily.
In fact, I think it just makes it easier for Arkansas State, MTSU, and the Louisianas to step up and make it interesting for once.
Thoughts?

Troy has stolen the crown. Until someone can snatch it from the Trojans, we are the Sun Belt kings.

In all honesty, UNT still holds the crown. Until someone else represents us in the New Orleans Bowl, UNT is king. Troy certainly beat UNT last night, but neither team had a great offensive night. This may come back to haunt them when they play the Cajuns!

Hmmm. NT loses their first conference game since 10/06/01 for a 26-2 conference record and the sky is falling for the Mean Green? Geeze, we'd really be out to pasture if we'd lost a game or two in between wouldn't we? 03-wink

Great win for Troy. Congrats also to MTSU for the win over Vandy. The Raiders special teams looked fantastic in that game.

Right now MTSU and Troy looked great this weekend, but until UNT loses 2-3 games in the SBC I think their still the favorites to win it.

This isn't boxing. The 2005 Sun Belt football title is vacant until all contenders are mathematically eliminated leaving us with either a champion or co-champions.

Right now ULM holds a half-game lead for first so the monkey is on Troy's back to make up that ground today.
