That's fantastic that they are recruiting that far out of state. That just widens the pool of talent for us to pursue. Hopefully the kid can come in and contribute. Gotta love the way Rams works.

but the big story of the day is the Tigs' game vs. the Angels.

7 - 6 man on 3rd Maggs at bat one out with Frank Rod. pitching.

Maggs crushes a 2 run HR.

Tigs trailed 7 - 0!!!

Now lead by 1.

Steve - TIGS - Maglio
Nice comeback but Jones didn't get the SAVE and lost the game the following inning - too bad - Steve TIGS were down big with Bonderman on the mound - who pitched relief and held the Angels in check until Jones came in? -

I found a few websites that talk about Wendale Farrow, a 6' 6" shooting guard from American River Community College in Sacramento. Perhaps this is the guy? If so, he comes pretty highly touted for a JUCO.

He's #6 in the country on this list of JUCO players:

Here's his school's website

He's #23 on Rival's list of JUCO players

my one recruiting related post for the day
Do remember guys the bit with hoop recruiting.

It isn't about getting 15, 20, or 25 kids like FB.

April is usually 1 or 2.

These are late fills to replace kid(s) who are leaving. Typically these kids haven't been recruited for 6 months.

The kid could be 'Plan B' like the kid Farris from Osborn. The only reason he is coming to EMU is that Gay left. Otherwise, he'd probably have gone to a D-II school (or so I hear).

As far as JUCOs, that again is '1' kid in April. Sometimes a kid someone saw at a JUCO tourney or maybe a friend of a coach or some connection.

Don't read TOO MUCH into one kid coming from Cali fornia. Don't look for more next year. It most likely similar to how we got Nink in the 90s (he played for a former teammate of one of the EMU coaches, might have been Brian Miller, I forget. You know, "I have a kid you should look at..." and a team will look and say, "sure".)

And in the case of that Cincy (?) h.s. EMU never got another kid... Don't build recruiting fantasy pipelines where none exist. 03-idea

EMU Recruiting '06/'07 RIP
The book is now closed (at least to me).

I'll fire up (maybe) in 6 months. Maybe or maybe not.

April recruiting is like the 'dead cat' bounce on Wall Street get back in for one last bounce.
