This is great news, wish there would be more variety on the teams and match-ups but we take our 5 games being on T.V.

Including our National Games against the Cajuns!!!! 04-cheers

At first I thought that this was bad news because it would have been going up against the 1st night of NFL football (see Indianapolis vs New England @ 9:00pm on ABC-TV), but at least the SBC will have the first two hours to themselves. Hopefully, ABC doesn't go and schedule pregame festivities leading up to the game. Let's just hope that everyone is aware and football crazed enough to tune in. 04-cheers

You're a Miami fan? And an FIU fan?

You're not one of those guys who wears a Miami jersey on FIU's campus are you? 05-nono

No. I was a UM fan since I was a kid (10 years old to be exact); FIU just recently created a football team and I attend the university so now I am a fan by affiliation. If the two should ever meet on the football field, I will be sitting and cheering in BLUE & GOLD without a doubt. I also partially cheer for the FAU Owls because through the media, we are attached by the hip (Since both programs were created at about the same time and we are in the same So. Fla. market, when one is discussed, so is the other). Now that they are going to be in our conference (Sun Belt Conf. from the Atlantic Sun), their success directly affects the success of the whole conference, thus putting the SBC on the map.
But please know that I am now and forever a GOLDEN PANTHER 04-bow till I die. :D 03-wink

Good to hear that!! Even though I still sort of root for UM Football (not so much in oher sports, since FIU has always competed with them), the moment FIU mentioned the possibility of bringing Football, I have no internal questions as to the undivided loyalty to FIU. I believe it is a matter of time to "convert" fans to FIU, first "partially", and then totally.

I understand that long-time loyalties and habits are hard to break, but have to confess to you that putting the UM logo next to ours kind of looked "bad" to my eyes and got my attention  Anyways, hopefully we will be able to create our own successful tradition.......

Okay FIUFanatic,
Because of you and only YOU, I will change my signature. You made your point. A good point, might I add. I liked and respect it and will do it because you are a fellow fan and enjoy FIU like I do. I DO realize that they are our crosstown rivals.
Thanks. 04-cheers 03-wink
