The Monroe News Star indicated today that Antonio Robinson (running back from Winnfield has commited to LSU. He rushed for more than 1700 yards this past season. He reminds a lot of people of Anthony Thomas who played his college days at Michigan and has a great pro career with the Chicago Bears. I am sure hoping that UL cajuns could have a comminent from either Lucas Tayor or Bradley Guillory real soon. Boy, it would sure help recruiting for the class of 2005.

Red, I am not sure our staff is looking at either of those guys (they may be I do not know). IMO, We should not compare ourselves to the other school. We have seen a huge improvement in recruiting over the past couple of years and we will have continue to get better.

I saw that RB play against Teurlings during the playoffs. He ain't all that. Teurlings shut him down and he was ineffective. And that was against a defense that did not have any D1 players on it. How will he do at LSU? Probably not as much as he accomplished at Winnfield.

Sounds like LSU picked him up then for the stats he has. I know Bustle and company won't pick up a player for their stats, but will pick them up b/c they can play ball no matter what their stats look like.

Chris Keyes (6'2", 200, SS,WR) from Port Barre, about 25 miles up the road will committ to LSU on Monday. Chris visited LSU on Junior Day last weekend and was offered a scholarship,by the Coach. LSU has six committments in football in early March. I just wish (joke) that UL cajuns had just one football committment who is a blue chipper. Oh, well we can't come up to par with the big LSU football program that makes almost 5 million dollars at just one home game.
BY the way does UL have anything similar to Junior Day during the Year?

Not sure but we probably do. I have heard we will have a football camp this summer (first time in years) so that should help get more players familiar with our program and the university, city, etc...

I think it will help tremendously b/c it will show the recruits the school and our system. It will also show them the city of Lafayette, if their from out of town and we can impress them and their parents.

Who is a rising senior RB from Bastrop? A UL coach said he was a prospect as he had a cousin on the team. Would that be Tre Green? He indicated that RB would be a top priority for 2005.

I believe his name his Marcus Green and Tre' Green is from Bastrop, don't know if they are cousins or not. Marcus Green made all state last season and was the Class 4-A MVP.

Geauxboy, I just about chocked on the news about MARCUS GREEN the (RB,5'11",175,4.5) from Bastrop. Green was the MVP on the 2004 class 4-A All-State Team. He really impressed me in the two games I saw him. He would make a top addition to the UL football program. I will definitely follow him up here this fall.

How about that Laterryal Savoy (Ath/WR,6'3",190) from Mamou ! It seems as though Michigan offered him a scholaship Tuesday and LSU is also considering him a scholarship. Just wondering if UL has their eyes on him. He must be a really good athlete if these two schools are after him.

Does anybody know when summer camp starts in Lafayette? I just got through reading about a LSU practice session and it seems like a fairy land where nothing but the best happens. All the top recruits in the nation from coast to coast are just scrambling to get to play for the tigers. They have their parents or brother to meet with the coaches.
The tigers should win the big trophy again next year.
