NIU Replacing EMU on Idaho's Football Schedule
Do you guys know of any specifics about this? How much was Idaho gonna pay you to go there? Was it a 1-for-1 deal EMU and Idaho agreed to? How much did EMU pay to buy their way out of the contract so they could play Pitt instead? Thanks.

I don't know what the financial situation was but I can tell you that Idaho played at EMU in 2004. Playing at Pitt is a much better situation for EMU because it undoubtedly pays more and is within EMU's typical recruiting region.

Yeah, i'd say it's easier for EMU fans to get to and a lot cheaper. Flights to Idaho have to be outrageously expensive since no one is going there.

Genyk tried to recruit in PA especially around the Pittsburgh area for two years (ie Barry Church for example). Last year I think he was only looking at one PA athlete. However the staff probably is looking at recruiting PA again and the Pitt game certainly helps with exposure.
I'm guessing that Pitt guaranteed enough that EMU could pay off Idaho and still come ahead.
