MAC Recruiting Analysis
MAC Report Online has a fairly extensive recruiting analysis posted. Written by our recruiting expert, Brian Golden, the piece includes a team-by-team breakdown and grade; signees by position; All-MAC Signee Team and a composite ranking as well.

very interesting
I have a few observations from what I know of various MAC schools and programs.

MIA - why shouldn't they be #1 - they have one of the most beautiful campuses in America and their FB stadium is really nice. Their hockey arena is stunning. Their academics are tremendous.

AKR - might still be getting some bump from being the '05 MAC champ.
J.D. can sell recruits. No surprise.

TOL - another historically strong programs which should be an easy sell to recruits.

CMU - BK really messed over this recruiting season. CMU has facilites and nicer facilities. MAC champ. This program should have been HOT in recruiting but wasn't.

WMU - According to an article I read, Cubit offered 15 kids from MI - all signed by BCS schools (none by CMU or EMU) so he went south where he says they know that WMU played FL. State tough, beat UVa and played in the I'Bowl. Either he is blowing smoke or he is on to something.

EMU - I don't see a 1-win team having a 'breakout' recruiting year. Just hoping from the best. EMU recruits MI and Ohio because it can't afford FL and probably wouldn't do well there anyways.

UB - Similar to EMU. Unless Turner Gill is magic - tough to sell that program.

Temple - Bad team but there are things to sell - the Linc, Al Golden, Philly, great schedules, etc. My pick for the '09 MAC surprise team.

Ohio - Beautiful campus, big name coach and a division title. Should have been a hot program, but wasn't.

BG and Kent - both small city programs near bigger programs. Tough sell.

NIU - bowl team, Joe Novak, enhanced facilities - should have been a hot program but wasn't.

BSU - does better then they should. Will have a nicer stadium in '07.
