John Fountain to retire
Did anyone see the flyer about the hoops reception Feb 25 and that John Fountain will be retiring after this season. This will be his last home broadcast.

This guy has done it all for EMU...

The strange thing is that John lives in Florida (I'm pretty sure) so he spends his summer in Florida and winters in Michigan...

Talk about dedication!!! 04-bow

I've always enjoyed listening to John on the radio. Its better than watching the game on the tube. A real class act and we will miss him.

Any thoughts on who should replace Fountain? Nemo did play-by-play today. If he gets the job full time it'll be interesting to see who gets the analyst job.

It would be great if Matt Sheppard did hoops in addition to FB. Too bad he does UM basketball.

I was wondering why Nemo did the broadcast today. That makes sense.

I wish John the best of luck. He has done a great job and will be sorely missed. I will echo the above posters thoughts on Ol' Shep, he would be a huge score. He doesn't seem likely, so who are the other local possibilities?

Clarence Black has done college b-ball on Comcast local and i thought he did a good job. Matt Dery would be cool, but he already does U of D. Rob Otto does football on Comcast and he's ok. Any others that you guys can think of?

I spoke to John and Nemo at Kent State and that's when I found John would be retiring. If all goes according to plan, Nemo will take over the play by play duties next season.

As for the BG game, Nemo did the play by play from BG last year too because the set up there is such that press row is not courtside and John's eyesight causes an issue from that distance.
