There are many RPI sites around on the Internet. The one I find most reliable is Ken Pomeroy's RPI. It is the same formula as the NCAA's, just the NCAA adds in a few details that no one really knows about. Also, there is a feature for comparing RPI resumes, so like UL's and Rice's. Also, he has conference RPI Rankings. He has our RPI at 91 after the loss to UNO. I prefer CBS's ranking, but everyone knows to get into the NCAA tourney, we gots to win the SBC tourney.

Yes I agree losing to UNO hurt our RPI really bad, but I think we have a good shot at winning the conference so I think it won't matter. Also I think it's a good thing to get the RPI up, incase we have another off night in the tournament and lose, so we have a chance at an automatic bid, eventhough I think they won't give it to us, unless we win the conference.

I'm going to assume you meant an at-large bid should we not win the confernce tourney. We can kiss the at-large bid good-bye. We kissed it good-bye with the losses to Dayton, Xavier, and GA Tech. If a mid-major has 2 or 3 losses for the year, they are on the bubble for the NCAA tourney. Every year, we need to win the conference tourney to get in. We could be 22-2 and still have to win the tourney to get in. Thanks to the BS conferences, thats the way it works. 90% of the bids go to 20% of the schools. Figure that one out.

I can't figure it out, I know what you mean, I think we should get a bid if we don't win the conference but the bigger schools get looked at first. And then what's left if there is something left, is left for the mid major schools to get a bid from.

Actually I don't think we deserve an at-large bid even if we would have won the rest of the games this year. Our RPI had we beaten UNO and then beaten everyone else and made it to the SBC Finals would have had us around 60, which is not high enough to get an at-large bid. We can thank the SBC schools who continuely hover around .500 that bring down our SOS which is a part of the RPI formula. However, when we get into CUSA and we are 14-6 on the year, we would still be considered for an at-large bid because the way things are right now, CUSA is up for about 5 at-large bids, plus the automatic bid. That might all change for CUSA with Louisville, Cincy, and Marquette leaving for the Big East. But I'd still rather be in CUSA with a chance for multiple bids.

Good point, I think getting into the CUSA can only help us. Some people say don't go into the CUSA b/c of the stability, but I think Conference USA is a better choice than the SunBelt in the future.

You are correct, we have a good team but if we do not win the conference tourney not only will we not make the field of 64, we will not deserve to. Close losses to Arizona, Dayton, and Xavier do not equal a shot in the tourney.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens at the end of the year. I hope everything turns out great for the Cajuns and we win the conference, so we don't have to worry about anything.
