AXON AT PG
Apparently he's the man. He'll do fine in a half court game but will have trouble against full court pressure. He is smart but not that quick but boy he can shoot.

Look for Dumas to handle a lot more of the ball handling duties as well. Don't know if Ford will play any!

What a shame for Medlock, he was playing so well, taking charge etc. One of the better PG's in the MAC, hope his recovery is sound and he leads us to greater heights the next couple of years.

Interesting to see if Rams now recruits another PG as a precaution although I doubt he will.

Well I can't agree more with Axon's shooting skills, when he's hot he's hot especially the 3 point range.

Dumes well I remember when we first discussed him he was definitely more of a shooting guard not a true point, but it be interesting to see how he would handle those duties.

If there's a silver lining, it's that he still has 2 full seasons left. At least he doesn't have to end his EMU career with a broken foot.

I loved Axon when he filled in for Medlock, and I think he is as good of a fill-in as anyone could ask for. Axon has a good feel for tempo and makes smart passes.

Hopefully Carlos gets healed up well for next year. Best of luck to him.

I spoke to Rams last night about Medlock's injury and who will replace him.

First, Rams was clearly a bit more subdued than usual and he doesn't deny this injury will have a big impact. Before Medlock's injury he felt that this team could really make a run in the MAC Tourney...now he does not know. Medlock's injury occurred with about six minutes remaining when he came down on a Buffalo player's foot and rolled his own foot. It is a clean fracture and Carlos is undergoing surgery today.

Axxon and Dumes will be asked to step up and Rams will know in fairly short order of either of these guys are ready to step up. Don't expect any major changes in the game plan because of Medlock's loss.

Stay tuned. Rams has already done a great job with this team, having won more games this season already than last and has shown now that EMU can pretty much compete with anybody. But Akron will be a tough test Wednesday.

Reading between the lines, like why was Medlock in there with a 20 point lead late in the game?

Ah some would say AT LEAST he is writing something about EMU.

Steve, I had a similar thought when Rams put Medlock back in. Axon was in for Meds and had helped run up the lead to about 20 when Medlock came back in with about 5 minutes left. I squirmed a little because it seemed like a good time to leave Axon in for Medlock to prevent injury (he'd already had a very physical game). I'll avoid critisizing Rams though - EMU is young and not in a position where they can call off the dogs with 5 minutes left, even with a 20 point lead.
