UNO Basketball Players Victor Brown and Billy McDade Ruled Ineligible

Tomesia Winston Dismissed from Women’s Basketball Team

NEW ORLEANS (July 13, 2004)-- University of New Orleans men’s basketball players Victor Brown (Orlando, Fla.) and Billy McDade (Largo, Fla.) have been ruled academically ineligible for the 2004-05 season by the school.

Brown, a 6-foot-8 forward, has played three seasons with the Privateers and averaged 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in 27 contests in 2003-04 including 14 starts.

McDade, a 6-foot-8 forward, completed his second season last spring and averaged 7.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 24 contests that included one start.

The school also announced women’s basketball player Tomesia Winston has been dismissed from the team for violating team policy.

The forward averaged 3.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in a reserve role for the Lady Privateers last season.

The Shannon, N.C., native will continue to be enrolled at the university and is on pace to graduate in December.

Is Victor going to resume his movie career? He was great in Castaway.
