You have a great little player in Wolfe and a young QB with a strong arm and your D plays with a lot of verve. Yes, you need an offensive line, but the same has been true of most of the teams TCU has played this year. Some of us from down in Texas tried gently (and politely, in my case) to warn you that the Huskies probably had not seen the kind of team speed they would see tonight, especially on defense. When everyone on the other side of the ball is faster than anyone on your side of the ball, play-calling gets awfully difficult. The Huskies will rise again. Maybe they got into a mismatch this time, but don't give up on them.

Thanks for the kind words but to put things in perspective...

We HAD a great little player in Wolfe but his career is now over. Up until this year we prided ourself in our OL -- it's now pretty clear that they were in large part responsible for Wolfe's success.

It's hard for us coming off a year like '03 with upsets over Maryland and Alabama and a 10-2 record and last year with a MAC championship appearance to take what is obviously a step backwards.

There are a lot of kids here on the board who perhaps don't have the life experience yet to put these things into perspective. 05-duck Frustration is the result.

It's not that we have given up on our team, it's just that we have a winning mentality now. We believe we can win every game, or at least make it close. The only game until tonight that we got our asses handed to us was Ohio State. I don't think anyone is giving up on our football team. We have too much potential in the next few years. With the new athletic facility, stadium renovation and recruits the future is going to be bright for the Huskies. I look forward to next years quarterback controversy already.....

This thread was great. Thanks for a few days of fun. Seriously, though you guys were skeptical as a cow looking at a new gate, I think the comments on this thread obfuscate any need for further words from me other than to say "this shall pass".

Just because NIU is in the middle of a cornfield doesn't necessarily mean that we know what the heck you're saying here. ;-)
