Our Saturday game with Dayton was canceled due to inclimate weather after leading 9-2 going into the bottom of the fourth.

The stats from the game will not count and the game will not be made up. :bang:

The two teams conclude their series at 1 p.m. Sunday at Reese Smith Field.

Middle Tennessee had three home runs in the game, a three-run shot by Troy Harp, a two-run blast from Brett Carroll, and a grand slam by Josh Archer, accounting for all of the runs.

Sigh....

FIU beats Manhattan again, 5-3. Next for FIU, at the University of Miami. I'll be at the game rooting for FIU.

Miami, Fla. - Trailing 3-0 through the first five innings, the FIU baseball team scored five runs over the next three innings en route to a 5-3 victory over Manhattan College on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Panthers fell behind early on three unearned runs in the top of the first to the visiting Jaspers. The FIU offense came alive in the bottom of the sixth after only recording just one hit in the first five innings. In the sixth inning, the Golden Panthers started the inning with an Eduardo Davila walk and a Yahmed Yema single put runners on the corners for Jeff Skellenger. The junior from Portland, Ore. delivered a two-RBI single through the left side to score Yema and Davila, cutting the Manhattan lead to 3-2. A groundout and a fly out end out prevented any further damage.

The rally continued in the seventh inning, sparked by a triple by Fernando Alvarez to start the inning. Alvarez came around to score on a single up the middle by Adrian Casanova to tie the contest at 3-3, which prompted a pitching change for the Jaspers. Following a wild pitch and a sacrifice bunt, the Golden Panthers had runners on first and second for pinch-hitter Cody Jacobs. The freshman delivered a RBI sacrifice fly to give FIU a 4-3 lead over Manhattan. The Golden Panthers picked up an insurance run in the eighth inning to stretch the lead to 5-3. With one out, Skellenger reached base on a walk, where Dennis Diaz came into run for him. Reliever Chris Cody nearly picked off the speedy Diaz; however, the Jaspers
