Some of you may have noticed that TSU is playing Missouri in Troy this year. There has been alot of debate on other boards about whether it should played on Thursday (on ESPN) or Saturday.

Advocates of the Thursday game say the ESPN exposure is the most important thing to consider, and the fact that its Missouri will bring people in for the game.

People in the camp for the Saturday game say attendance will be hurt if played on Thursday and that TV time is nothing compared to playing the game in front of a SRO house to cheer on the Trojans, and when they win, exposure will take care of itself.

So I'm asking all of the SBC and the 'lurkers' from other schools about their school(s) experience playing big games on Thursday nights. Not whether Troy should play on Thursday or Saturday, but if your school's experience was good or bad, and if you think they should do it again.

Thanks.
GO TROJANS!

TV is ALWAYS the deciding factor. Even though our Thursday games were only on ESPN plus as regional coverage, we got national exposure. Our game winning field goal as time expired against NMSU was the play of the day on ESPN.

Don't think that high school prospects won't watch your game. The prospects in your region WILL see it. That kind of exposure is priceless.

It is up to the local community to support the team no matter what night the game is. The value of national TV exposure cannot be measured.

IMHO UNT's Thursday game (for TV) vs Troy last year was a disaster except for the win. Attendance was lousy due to an early week day start time. It was our only game with under 15,000plus attendance and probably cost us a 20,000plus attendance average for the year.

I think that it depends on what city you are in. Weeknight games in Denton suck because of the traffic coming from Dallas and Ft. Worth. You can't make it to a game without leaving work a couple hours early. A lot of people can't do that. Smaller cities would be able to pull it off because you don't have to worry about commuting with 5 million other people. I would go for the Thursday night game against Mizzou, just my opinion.
