The University of San Francisco called a press conference to officially name Jessie Evans head coach of the men's basketball program.

Evans leaves Louisiana after 7 seasons.

He won over 62% of his games, including four 20-win seasons and two NCAA Tournament appearances.

UL officials also called a press conference to announce the coaching vacancy and that Robert Lee will take over as interim head coach.

Cajun athletic director Nelson Schexnayder also complimented Jessie Evans on his job while in Lafayette.

The UL athletic department also announced a full-scale coaching search to succeed Jessie Evans.

They've already received 8-10 applicants.

Nelson Schexnayder feels they are quality applicants.
