I have enjoyed our basketball rivalry and would hate to see you guys go. Geography wise, if your school was located in Morehead, KY (for example) instead of Bowling Green, KY I could see this move being a no brainer but as it stands IMO you are located in more of a SE region.

I don't know if you caught the game here in BG on TV a few months ago, but that was incredible. Very fast, very high scoring. I saw Jesse Evans in the stands at the Sunbelt tourney scouting the MTSU game. I congratulated him on a great team. Did I hear correctly he left for San Francisco or am I mixed up on that? That seems like a really strange move for him.

Geography wise we are in the middle of the country. I think it would have been about the same either way. Philosophically and culturally we are definately more southern than northern here. Its all moot now anyway.
Yes, Jessie left for USF. We expect a new head coach to be named sometime this coming week, maybe as early as Monday.

SwampHound, have you heard/read anything about Evan's motivation on that? This seems like a bad move to me. Makes me wonder if there was something internal going on there.

Not to bad in comparison, keep in mind it is a barely 30 year old university.
Excellent!!!

Nothing confirmed but it is believed by many that the admin was not happy with the number of ineligible players to start the past 2 seasons. However, publicly both sides say the right things "we wanted Coach Evans to stay" blah, blah, blah. IMO, Evans wanted to move to the west coast (he coached at Arizona and San Diego State) because that is where he is happiest. His salary at USF is not much higher than it was here but he does get something like $150,000.00 a year "housing allowence" which he will need every penny in SF from what I have heard. I was never a big Evans fan, he did do some good things here but it was time to move on. I wish him well and hope we can continue the success our program has enjoyed over the years and even take it to a higher level.
