Heard Wright Waters on the radio today in an interview with local radio host Don Allen. One of the things he covered was the SBC would soon announce a new TV contract that will be very similiar to the one the MAC recently signed. I cannot remember the details but a press release should come soon. I do remember it was a lot more TV coverage for our football and basketball games (and more money according to Waters).

On a related note, the WAC/ESPN TV deal was put in the papers prematurely. Nothing has been signed and now that UTEP is leaving for C-USA, ESPN wants to lower the payout to the WAC.

It must suck to be in the WAC right about now. Everyone is deserting that conference.

Sadly, the WAC is not the WAC; the MWC is the WAC. Try Big West II.

This is great news for the Sun Belt, I hope the teams don't leave this conference for the WAC and the WAC dries up to nothing. 04-cheers

I do not see any schools in the Belt leaving for the WAC outside of Idaho. The only other school to leave will probably be Denver, but I for one would like them to stay, yes they do not have a F-Ball program but are good competitors in the most other sports plus they are NCAA Champions of Hockey currently.
04-cheers
