I pulled all of these recruits from theinsiders.com My guess is Ryan Meyers definetly has good grades if he is interested at playing at Princeton,Stanford and Yale. He has high interest in Princeton and medium interest in all of the rest. As for the other two players I listed they both show medium interest for all the schools they have listed.

I look for Coach Bustle to probably sign another quarterback this coming recruiting season depending on how the current quarterback situation develops.

Jerry Babb So.- starter at QB

Luke Sniewski Jr.- 2nd string QB

Matt Lane Sr.- 3rd string QB Special teams role??

Devin Williams So.- currently listed on the Ragin Cajuns roster at QB, I'm assuming he may be eligible if he is listed on the roster.

Michael Desormeaux- will be coming in as a freshman not sure if the plan is to redshirt him or not. I have heard he is a good all around athlete. He is listed as 6'2" 195lbs. I'm curious to know what his time in the 40 is as this may lead to him playing a roll somewhere else on the team. Also I have heard his baseball skills are good, does anyone know if scouts are interested in drafting him?

I checked up on one of our prospects,
WR Andrew Lair
(Brother Martin HS)
New Orleans, LA 6-3/200/4.50
Schools of Interest: Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, LSU, Tulane

his info has now changed to this:

WR Andrew Lair (plays QB currently, projected as WR)
(Brother Martin HS)
New Orleans, LA 6-3/200/4.50
Schools of Interest: Arkansas, Auburn, Navy, Tulane, Vanderbilt

I presume his stock went up because he did a 180 with most of the schools of interest.

Meyers has ties to the LA area. Word is he's highly recruited and a protege' of Floyd Burnsed (HS coach of Ken Dorsey). He's a steal if ULL can get him. He's a big-time QB prospect. Other schools courting him are: Miami, Nebraska, Oregon, USM, and Washington.

Meyers looks like a great prospect. With his grades and ability I wonder if he will come here or choose one of the "big Time" programs?

Don't know if the coaches are talking to him. Someone needs to call the ULL staff and make sure they are!

There might be some strange folks in Cal., but look who is the no. 1 high school in this entire nation. There have been several great college quarterbacks that have come from Cal. Just take another look at our oppent at Ruston for the past 6 to 8 years. Those team leaders didn't come the bayou state. I say go for Meyers with everthing that we have if want to have another winning season.

Well rumor has it that Williams has left to go to a JC. So, that leaves

Babb (Sophomore)
Sniewski (Junior)
Lane (Senior)
Desormeaux (Freshman, possible redshirt in 04')

so for 2005 that would leave

Babb (Junior)
Sniewski (Senior)
Desormeaux (RS-Freshman)

I am guessing the current plan is for Desormeaux to serve as Babb's backup in 2006 and start as a RS-Junior in 2007. Any of you who visited the old board may remember that there is a possibility of a JC QB from Mississippi walking on in the fall. Even if that does happen I would still expect us to sign a QB. Anyone who remembers when Derek Dyer quit the team (a few years ago) and the scramble for replacing him knows a team can never have enough quality QB's on the roster.

I sure do hate to see Williams leave UL and go to a JC. We need the walk on from Miss. plus at least one good recruit from a real good program like John Curtis,Barbe, Redemptorist, Parkview Baptist, Evangel,West St. John and Carencro. We can't afford to be caught with our pants down again. Great quarterbacks make real good football teams.

I say we go out of state. After some thinking (and time off) I'd like to see us sign that CA kid!

We need a winner!
