Cajuns lose both games today, 12-11 and 7-2. Disappointing to lose to the last place team in the conference. Looks like we will have to win the conference tourney to get into the NCAA tourney.

Where was our pitching today? I was shocked at the number of runs our pitching staff gave up. If we play like this in the conference tournament we will be in trouble.

Recruiting, Recruiting, Recruiting

Hopefully, Menrendino is a sign of things to come.

I have another theory, but I'll wait on that one. Don't want to be called a blasphemer.

Z,
This is the way I see it. Our pitching staff carried much of the load back in 2000, we had pretty good hitting, but pitching is what got us there. Since then we just haven't had the arms to be competitive. Justin Gabriel and Andy Gros were both solid pitchers but we were not hitting the ball well and also 2 pitchers do not make a staff. This year out hitting is better but we have no consistency in the pitching staff. Ardoin is our ace but even he struggles with inconsistency at times. We need pitching that can throw more consistently and adapt to what our opposition is or isn't hitting.

I just read where our neighbors down the road were number 1 in baseball recruiting. Where did UL come out. It all comes back to good recruiting if you are going to have a good season. I can't understand why we played in the CWS in 2000 and can't even win the conference anymore. What has really happened?
