Western making first trip to NCAA Tournament since 1980.

The Hilltoppers claimed the SBC Tournament trophy and an NCAA berth with a 14-4 victory over Middle Tennessee Saturday.

Mobile, Ala. — For the first time since Western Kentucky University head coach Joel Murrie's first season in 1980, his Hilltopper baseball team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament after a 14-4 win over Middle Tennessee in the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
This was the first ever Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship for Western as it became the first number-seven seed to win the conference crown.

Congrats. Proves that not going into the losers bracket is a good thing as the Toppers were the only team to not lose a game in the tourney. Do us good in the tourney!!!
