LAFAYETTE - University of Louisiana at Lafayette head men's basketball coach Glynn Cyprien announced Friday that senior forward Cedric Williams has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
Williams has been removed from athletic scholarship with the University due to academic shortcomings. In addition, sophomore Matt Foster will not be returning to the team.
Williams played two seasons for the Cajuns averaging eight points and four rebounds as a sophomore and 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds last season as a junior.
Foster was a redshirt during the 2002-03 season and played in nine games last season.
The absence of Foster and Williams leaves Cyprien with five returning letterwinners from last season's NCAA Tournament squad including Chris Cameron, Orien Greene, Brian Hamilton, Dwayne Mitchell and Ross Mouton.
The Cajuns also return Rhett Hebert, Adam James and Alphonso Williams from the 2003-04 squad and will add East Tennessee State transfer Tiras Wade, junior college transfers Spencer Ford, Berry Jordan and Anthony Rhodman and Jeanerette High School signee Derek Gray.

There goes another one with Williams. Hopefully the new class that he recruits won't have nearly this many problems with people dropping out. I hope no more drop so we can have a full team.
