Cancer, alzheimers, cystic fibrosis, mad cow disease, sars, and others are caused by the misfolding of proteins in the body. Folding@Home is a project ran by Stanford University that uses your computer's unused power to simulate the folding of proteins to find out why they misfold, and thus help cure those diseases.

NCAAbbs has a Folding@Home team (Folding@NCAAbbs). We have nearly 60 active computers. We recently overtook team Louisiana State University... but we do not have enough people aboard to overtake teams like NC State University, University of Tennessee Knoxville, University of Alabama, Mississippi State University, and others. If as few as one out of every one hundred NCAAbbs members run Folding@Home.. we'll have more than enough to overtake these teams.

So.. join team Folding@NCAAbbs, help fight cancer and other diseases, and help us be able to claim the #1 spot for college related teams.

Installation instructions for Linux, Windows, Macintosh:

Post up if you're joining, or if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them.
