Question (David Krysakowski): Do you ever see Arkansas-Little Rock, Denver, New Orleans, and South Alabama leaving the Sun Belt because they don't have football?

Commissioner Wright Waters: Those are institutional decisions and it will not be made based on football nor will the football schools encourage them to leave. There is room in this league for everyone and everyone can contribute in a meaningful way. :stupid:

Just my opinion but anyone expecting UNO and UALR (and to a lesser degree USA) to leave the Sun Belt because they don't have football is a person who doesn't understand the Sun Belt.

UNO and UALR each get their best conference home gate for their in-state rival located about 2 hours away. ULL and ASU generally get good gate for hosting the return game. Each school provides economical travel for the nearby league school and they simplify travel plans for schools traveling to ASU and ULL in men's and women's basketball, volleyball and such.

Unless there were an A-10/CUSA level option for them as non-football schools, no other conference offers UNO and UALR the revenue and local interest that Sun Belt membership does with their nearby opponents.

I would suspect that Ricky Bustle and Steve Roberts love the fact that their school's basketball teams goes into their state's largest metro area and plays a conference game raising the school's profile without having to fight those schools for football recruits in the area.

There just isn't any incentive for those schools to want to leave nor is there any incentive for the rest of the conference to want them to go.
