Okay, I'm bored. So now I'm going to ask your opinion on which school has the best marching band in the Sun Belt. I know some of you take pride in your band and some of you think band people are just geeks. I was a band geek and proud of it, heck I'm still a band geek. Anyways, the bands do work hard and they put alot into every show, but not all bands are equally good. So, tell us which Sun Belt band you think is best. Use the name of the band if you know it (ex 'Sound of the South', 'Sound of Today', etc.)

BTW, for some of you, I know this is a sports forum, but I couldn't imagine a football game without the marching bands.

Now, here are my picks.

1. Troy's "Sound of the South"

2. UNT

Have fun!

The UNT Green Brigade. One of the best music schools in the nation, All Music Ed majors HAVE to be in the band along with a great deal of music performance majors... all signs point to UNT.

Why do ALL music ed majors have to be in the band?

That doesn't seem fair to someone who may want to teach music but is not interested in marching.

Its that way here at WKU too. When you teach music you've usually got to teach marching band too, so I guess they make you march in college in order to get the feel of it for High School

Yeah, Sarahbelle, it is the same way at Troy. Music Majors *must* march.

Five years ago I would have said our own Band of Blue ws as good as anyone in the nation, but we have been in decline since then. Our band used to get bigger ovations than the SEC schools we were playing (usually on their homecoming weekends!).
