LSU, Rice, Charlotte, Kansas, NC State, Vanderbilt and Southern Illinois Highlight 2004-05 MBB Schedule

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball released their 2004-05 schedules Saturday, according to Director of Athletics Nelson Schexnayder.

Newly appointed UL men's basketball head coach Robert Lee leads the Cajuns into the 2004-05 season, in defense of their 2003-04 Sun Belt Conference regular season and tournament titles. The schedule is highlighted by 12 home games, including tilts against Rice University on Nov. 27 and Southern Illinois on Jan. 6.

UL will also participate in the LSU Tournament (Nov. 19-21), as well as traveling to 2004 NCAA Tournament participants Charlotte (Dec. 1), Kansas (Dec. 11), North Carolina State (Dec. 15) and Vanderbilt (Jan. 2).

The Cajuns' game at N.C. State, a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament First Round meeting, will be broadcast on Fox Sports South.

UL will play a 15-game Sun Belt Conference schedule, including home games against Denver (Jan. 8), Florida International (Jan. 22), Western Kentucky (Jan. 27), Middle Tennessee (Jan. 29), South Alabama (Feb. 10), New Orleans (Feb. 12), New Mexico State (Feb. 17) and North Texas (Feb. 19).

The Cajuns will end their 2004-05 season at Arkansas-Little Rock which will be televised on ESPN2 on Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m. The 2005 Aeropostale Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be held at the Super Pit in Denton, Texas.
