DENTON – Freshman Jamario Thomas moved to the top of the depth chart after a record-setting performance against Colorado on Saturday.
Thomas' 247 yards rushing broke the UNT record for a freshman. The former Longview Spring Hill standout's total also ranks first in the nation among freshmen this season.
Had Thomas not carried the ball twice against Texas in UNT's season opener, he would have set an NCAA record for rushing yards by a freshman in his first game.
Patrick Cobbs began the season as UNT's starter before he injured his left knee against Florida Atlantic.
Kevin Moore was scheduled to start against Colorado but did not make the trip to attend to what coach Darrell Dickey described as off-the-field issues. Moore is no longer listed on UNT's two-deep depth chart.

I know you guys are glad to see this freshman step up (especially now with Cobbs out). I hope some of our young guys will step up this week.
