Samuel Smith set school records last weekend -- with 10 catches for 131 yards -- and FIU coaches expect more from his position.

Florida International began its football program with a practice on a grassy lot behind the Golden Panthers basketball arena in 2001.
Soon there after the Golden Panthers moved into FIU Stadium and started play in 2002 winning their inaugural game against St. Peter's. After 11 tries, FIU snared its first road win last week at Youngstown State.
And all through the development of the program, coach Don Strock's patient mantra has been ``we're building this thing brick by brick."
