Moving up:
Louisiana-Lafayette
Louisiana-Monroe
Arkansas State
Troy
Utah State
About the same:
New Mexico State
Idaho
Moving down:
Middle Tennessee
North Texas
Three men named Bobby Keasler, Joe Hollis, and Jerry Baldwin brought heartache and too many losses to their respective schools, so Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State, and Louisiana-Lafayette got rid of them and got better coaches in thier place. Good moves because ULM, ASU, and UL-Lafayette look better today than at any other time in their Sun Belt tenure.
On the flip side, shame on North Texas for losing 37-14 to hapless Baylor. They play Middle Tennessee Saturday and the former Sun Belt co-champs pairings of 2001 may be competing for who will not finish last in the conference.
Surprise, Surprise!
Utah State shows signs of life by stunning the Runnin' Rebels of Nevada-Las Vegas from the "City that Never Sleeps", and considering how late the kickoff was I suppose Las Vegas lives up to that name. And even though the city may never sleep it certainly sounds like UNLV's football team was.
New Mexico State and Idaho clearly looking sore after blowout losses to New Mexico and Oregon respectively. </span></span></span>
