We pulled out another squeaky win tonight. Our defense bent alot, but didn't break. J-Mo set a new rushing record and we had a 100 yd fumble return that proved to be the difference. Undefeated in the Belt, with a much needed off week coming up. Utah St. put up a tough fight like they always do in Logan, but had too many turnovers. Mean Green on the rise.

Be afraid, be very afraid! 03-wink

True freshman Jamario Thomas goes for 256 and 2 TD's...next year we'll have him and Cobbs.

Utah State would have been a tough road test for alot of us in the Sun Belt including my school. I'm glad we have USU at home this year.

For North Texas to go up to Logan and win, well, that says alot about how well they are doing.

I don't believe Jamario Thomas played during the first four games UNT had slated. Perhaps his absence affected North Texas' ability to win or at least lose respectably in the first four games.

Needless to say, MTSU needs UNT to lose twice and for UL-Lafayette to lose one more if we want a shot at New Orleans, but then we would have to run the conference table--that means beating Idaho, ULM, and Utah State at home and having to go in the desert of Las Cruces and beat New Mexico State (not an easy task) and also win on the road at Troy where the Trojans haven't lost since falling to Utah State in their home closer in 2002.

He carried the ball twice against Texas. If you take that game out, he's averaging 185 yards per game. He went for 247 against what WAS the #4 rushing defense in the nation at Colorado. He broke a big TD run in the first half at Baylor, tweaked a hamstring...and couldn't return. He did NOT play at all against FAU. Cobbs was injured in the first half, and Kevin Moore took the rest of the carries. I bet the coaching staff will be kicking themselves for that one all year long.
