RECAP...

Northern Illinois posted its most
decisive victory in 79 years, defeating national doormat
Buffalo, 73-10, in a Mid-American Conference matchup.

Chris Finlen passed for 223 yards and two touchdowns for the
Huskies (5-3, 3-1 MAC), who posted their most lopsided win since
a 91-10 victory over Elmhurst on November 5, 1921.

Northern Illinois, which recorded a 52-0 win over Illinois State
in September, rebounded from a 52-22 loss to Western Michigan to
win its fourth game in five tries.

The Bulls (1-7, 1-3) lost their fourth straight since a
surprising 20-17 win over Bowling Green on September 23. Three
of their seven losses have been by at least 56 points.

The Huskies never trailed. They led 45-0 at halftime after
scoring 28 points in the second quarter, one off a school
record, and finished with 646 yards of total offense.

Justin McCareins caught 10 passes for 151 yards and three
scores, and Thomas Hammock rushed 23 times for 147 yards and two
touchdowns. Jon Lanum capped the scoring with a pair of TD runs
in the fourth quarter.

Ah, what a beautiful day that was!! <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

If not for their RB Grundy, Buffalo may not have had any yards at the end of the day! Even our 3rd team TB scored!!

Couldn't help but notice that Urban was playing in the 2d quarter...that's something from the "you know a game's a whoopin' file" Huskie legend Dan Urban in the 2d.

That game was great entertainment. I love blowouts sometimes. Lanum, another Huskie legend, broke a big run...that little UB RB hurdling a Huskie defender. Heck, the backup PUNTER got into the game.

the only moment for pure laughs in an NIU game that rivals pretty much this whole UB game is seeing the Kent State QB at the time...a big oaf of player make and option pitch to absolutely no one, the ball just rolling for a few yards until Benji Peacock finally got over to the ball a good couple of seconds later and ran it back.
