hmmmm... if Eastern Michigan is like Denver (which, from what I hear from Sun Belt fans, has virtually no fans whatsoever) - then I may let that count just for the sake of closure. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

EMU's board is as dead as their football program. Did you know they haven't won more than 4 games in a season since they went 6-5 in 1995?

In early 1980s the MAC wanted to kick EMU out.
The Hurons as they were known back then turned things around. By the end of the 80s EMU had one of the best football programs in the MAC. They won a championship. I don't think that they had very good support back then either. I can't understand why. Maybe it is because they changed their school's nickname. They look to much like the New York Jets

Maybe Charlie Batch will register to post as a EMU fan. After all, the former EMU QB has a lot of free time since he was released by the Lions.

Pretty bad when a 2-14 team releases you!

As soon as Eastern Michigan FB starts winning again on a regular basis, the stadium will fill up. I think coach Woodruff is going to build a winning program in Ypsi. He put together the best recruiting class in school history this year and that's what it takes. Fans want a team that can compete nationally not just in the MAC. I believe the MAC is getting stronger every year. I just hope that means more bowl games.

Eastern' fan base is low for a lot of reasons, but the most significant reason is that gigantic University that sits 10 minutes away in Ann Arbor and puts 110,000 people per game in the seats. Another reason is that the Detroit media seems to only focus on UM and MSU and practically ignores EMU. Finally, the students don't support the sports program either and a great part of it is due to the athletic facilities being off campus. But, a winning season would help and get at least 20-25,000 in the seats.
