What's up w/ that.

If I remember NMSU is leaving the SBC for the WAC...is that right?

So maybe you all don't care much, but this disappointms me. I like Samuel, and I think he did alright w/ what he started with.

Any explanation? His teams weren't that bad. Is it b/c of the rapid improvement UTEP saw? And that UNM is now competitive?

I'm not big into the Black Coaches Assoc and their complaints...but keeping Samuel would have been a good idea IMO.

NMSU had been picked either 2nd or 3rd by the coaches of the SBC for the past 3 seasons. Each year, they have fallen flat on their faces. This year they finished 3rd, which is respectable, but embarrassing losses to UNM (38-3) and UTEP (45-0) in consecutive weeks is probably the reason he was fired. The talent is there, but I don't think Samuels got the best out of them.
