Why doesnt Western Kentucky move up to D1a? They won a national championship in D1aa couple of year ago. What else is there to accomplish in small ball? With your basketball there is a possibly could get an invite to CUSA, in a few of years the Big East expands. Most people think the Big East will split and take might take 1-4 from out of Memphis, ECU, UCF, or Marshall.

If I was heading a program like Western Kentucky I would try to line up for that right now. North Texas, Troy, Midd Tenn State, and and maybe New Mexico State are programs I would think would get CUSA looks. You might also have a shot at the MAC.

The worst case scenario is you would be in the Sun Belt conference which isn't bad. North Texas has played in a few bowls. You can be successful in it. I just would love it to undermine those from Loserville Cardinals.

WKU has been striving for the MAC here for a while. At least the fans have been talking a lot about it, and I mean A LOT. They will move up to 1-A, not soon enough, but soon. My prediction is that they will stay in the Sun Belt for a few more years at least, along with all the current membership in the Belt.

I would be excited to play I-A football in the Belt. I would be equally excited to play I-A in the MAC. I would just be excited to play I-A. It will happen, SOON. WKU will be I-A by 2008.

I would LOVE to see WKU play football in the SBC. It would be a guaranteed sellout for each school every other season. And you think Western fans get abused now, wait until they start lining up for their annual beating from MT.

Annual beating?? We have a better winning % than you do against I-AAs in the last 5-years. What makes you think you'd beat us?

Yeah, those losses to SEMO and FAU kinda take the steam out of MT football smack talk. But there will be no more losses to 1-AA because Andy Mac knows his job would be gone if he did.
