I have my ideas I almost put this in the form of a poll . Since my last poll nearly got me deported from southern Kentucky I thought a normal old post would do.

It is my opinion that as far as tradition in out of conf would be Murray, Eastern, and (for us) two other in state schools that I have sworn not to mention for a while on this board, one shares initials with one of our conference mates in Louisana and the other inverts the initials that the University of Kansas goes by. (The other honorable mention would be LA Tech, miss them as members of the Sunbelt.)

In conference is a no brainer, the UL (Sunbelt) and MTSU due to history proximity ect . . .

We see it as a good rival in Basketball here at UL

Louisiana vs. Western Kentucky, I always make it at the dome.

Thanks for having a board besides the Haven.

In State would have to be Murray, in the last few years the games have gotten back to being close. In conference easily Lafayette

I like MTSU as a rival because of how close they are, but ever since that little dance on the Diddle floor I can't help but want to beat them the most and usually we play really hard nosed, close games with them.

If the Toppers aren't selling out the EKU, Middle, and Murray games in football and or basketball.... something is very bad wrong....

I would consider a ULL a close 2d to these other 3. 03-wink

MTSU is developing nicely, especially after the season finale last year, going to overtime. They are in our division, they are 90 minutes away, I'd like for them to be develop into WKU's top rival.

Murray is always good. UL-L is a decent one also.

uk and uofl would make good rivals, but it requires a willingness to play on both sides.

We won't be considered WKU's top rival by most Topper fans until we go Dancing. It's been way too long-- 1989.

Trivia-- Who is the last lowVC team to win in the Big Dance?

In our conference geographically MTSU is our best rival. In the grand scheme of things (conference) I'd probably say ULaLa. It seems that we bring out the best in both those teams and they bring out the best in us too.

Outside of our conference, because of history, I have to say Eastern. The Eastern - Western football game still means a lot to the fans of both schools. The basketball matchup really doesn't mean much, but the fans still come out for it.
