As always, the KSU mediaconnection are pathetic--cannot connect AGAIN to the radio RealPlayer link.
Followed the game on Yahoo with their 60 sec. updates--Cribbs had 0 passes and 1 rush for 3 yards. Must have been out early.
Haven't heard anything else yet.
How are we going to beat anyone without Cribbs?
UCF can be had, too, next week.

Please tell me Cribbs isn't hurt again. Maybe he is ill, the flu or something. For whatever the internet is worth, I can't find anything about Cribbs tonight. Guess I'll have to wait for the PD or BJ next Wed to find out. 03-banghead

Cribbs out...season over. 03-banghead

Punt16, are you out of your stupor yet? Help us out here. What happened?

Yep, he's hurt..left ankle...no details

Quote:``You never want to lose your starting quarterback during a game, especially early,'' Kent State Coach Dean Pees said. ``But (Antwan) Smith and (Darryl) Polk played very well for us today and moved the ball pretty well on a few possessions.

``It had an impact losing Josh, but they both did admirable jobs for us. Smith started off well and then he went down with the shoulder injury. Polk then came on and started to move the ball near the end of the second quarter. It impacted what we wanted to do, but again you've got to tip your hats to both Smith and Polk because they were ready when called upon.''

Put down the funny cigarette before interviews, coach. KSU had a total of 79 rushing yards. Smith and Polk combined for 9-23 and 105 yards.

Fear not boys... I am back. Not quite out of my stupor yet, non the less, I am back.
It was exciting for most of the game until Smith went down (as you could imagine). Josh got rolled on the second play of the game. High ankle sprain, but not too serrious. He was moving around quite well on the sidelines and never set his helmet down. I think Dean made a judgement call here and thought of the importance of this game against the MAC season.
ENTER SMITH...
Antwan looked good, all things considered. He was moving the offense and Alston was running quite well. Then Smith got rung with a 2nd-degree shoulder seperation. Word is doubtful for quite a few weeks (that my friends is not a good thing). :crying:
ENTER POLK...
You saw him last year, need I say more. The one positive that came from his playing time is that he made no stupid mistakes. He seemed to be making good reads, but he needed the basketball team out there to catch passes. If you were not 6'9" or taller, you had no chance. 03-banghead

So, don't quote me on this, but I think Cribbs will be ready for this weekend. Maybe with a little help  he will stay healthy for the rest of the season.

SAY YOUR PRAYERS and GO FLASHES!!!

Thanks punt. I had hoped that pulling Cribbs was merely a precaution.

From today's PD:

Aches and Pains: Kent State had a 10-0 lead over Penn State Saturday even after starting quarterback Joshua Cribbs was sidelined with an ankle sprain. But once backup quarterback Antwan Smith went down with a shoulder injury, dreams of an upset vanished.

Coach Dean Pees said the availability of both of his quarterbacks are in doubt. True freshman quarterback Tom Sitko from Akron Hoban High could be pressed into duty.

That's not good news...
