For years, I have issued periodic reminders that Lee Corso is an idiot, and, with training camps now open, it's worth remembering that remains as true today as ever. But I do have to give the man some credit. Unlike at least one of his co-workers, even Lee isn't dumb enough to think he should run for Congress.

Are we now saying that Lee Corso AND Lou Holtz are idiots?

Holtz is an idiot, too unless he decides to run in Minnesota. I wonder if he won would they put a spittle shield in front of his microphone to protect those in the row ahead of him from the fallout?

It just wouldn't be right, if we didn't take a few seconds before the football season ends to remind everyone that water is still wet, the sky is still blue, sandpaper is still rough, and Lee Corso is still an idiot.

It's been reported that last week Lee Corso said on Gameday that "TCU nor Cincinnati should play for a National Championship because they don't have the tradition." The United States may be the Land of Opportunity, but not in Corso's world.

How about we do some word replacement, such as: "Blacks nor Latinos should be head football coaches because they don't have the tradition." Lee, think about that statement and understand the perspective of those from outside the power conferences.

Of course he won't, because Lee Corso is an idiot!

Mid-summer update: While ESPN has added a third hour to "College GameDay" to placate Erin Andrews, Corso apparently will not appear before 10:00 AM Eastern. Two hours of his idiocy is enough for any given week -- even for the suits at ESPN.
