...will we win Saturday?

Seriously, you hate to see Marshall coming off a loss AND a bye week.
I hope we are not too ding'd up to make it a game. Also hope that JC is closer to 100% and a bit of that breakaway speed is back.

Back in the summer I was the lone poster here who predicted 6 wins. Despite our 3-2 start, it was still going to be tough. I thought we would beat BSU and upset one of Marshall--Miami--UCF. Got the "upset" though it wasn't really one as it turned out because we had superior talent and coaching to the Knights.

Need to beat Ohio and Buffalo, obviously, and get at least one win from Herd, Hawk, BG, & UCONN.

SEVEN wins is not inconceivable, but the defense needs to continue to mature--big test this week--and the offense needs to find someone who can fill David Alston's shoes. I hope A. Smith can give us some spark on O.

Wish I could be around for the pre-game banter with the Herd fans if there is any, but as soon as I finish this, I'm off to Canada for the next three days with no phone, no computer, etc.---peace! So good luck to anyone making the trip to Huntington! Stop by a Herd tailgate and say I sent you! 03-wink

Assuming your trip to Canada is to restock on whatever you are smoking? Seven wins. Your dreaming. 5 wins tops and maybe only 4 as OU kicked our a$$ last year.

Beating UConn, Marshall, Miami or BG just isn't gonna happen as those are 4 top notch teams.

6 wins would have been possible, but they let the Ball State game slip away. No reason for losing that one. Buffalo should be a win. UCONN seems to be improved, but lost their starting RB. Plus, after the pasting they gave the Flashes last year without Cribbs, they should be motivated for some revenge and pull an upset at home. Max wins is 5. That's not terrible considering the schedule.

Things really changed a lot without Alston (he really gets the focus off Cribbs); I thinks five
wins are still in the books if Cribbs plays out the season and his ankle injury does not get
any worse. I like our chances against UCONN because of the revenge factor (they kicked our
tail big time last year) and don't have their best offensive weapon, and if we don't beat
Buffalo..................well....at least its the last game.......which means Basketball will be starting 04-rock

But this team is improving and if someone else besides Cribbs and/or Alston decides to
step it up (I'm thinking maybe Antwoin Smith if he is healthy) an upset could happen!!
