Today I attended the Vanderbilt/Kentucky game in Nashville. Vanderbilt, like Kent, plays in a very old facility but one that has been cherished for many years. Memorial Gym, like the M.A.C. Center, was constructed in the 50s and it also has undergone major renovation. Memorial Gym turned 51 years old this season, and the constant care given the gym ensures that playing conditions remain excellent. Vanderbilt

We had about 40 Chicago area alums get together at the Cubby Bear, a very popular sports bar directly across from Wrigley Field, to watch the game yesterday. Nearly everyone commented on how nice the MACC center showed up on T.V. The floor looks great, the place looked much larger than it is- probably distorion by the size of the crowd.

I think we could expand the MACC, but as others have said, it has a great historic feel and offers a home court advantage.

BTW, the Cubby Bear put the Kent State- Akron game on most of its many TV's yesterday. I think we won over some confused Chicago North Siders who initially wondered why they were watching a game from Fox Sports Ohio.

It looked great yesterday on TV! Fantstic crowd--you can't do much better than 100 over capacity!
I'm making my plans now to be there for Valentine's Day to show a little "love" for our sister school from the flat W. Ohio plains. Tried to make my visit for the BB game on the 21st, but couldn't do it, especially since we don't even know the time of that game yet.
Yesterday was a lot of fun, especially in the seocnd half!
