It's at the MACC at noon Feb. 21.
What a great matchup! We could not have done better than a tough Creighton team at home. We have a lot to gain with a win here! It's "party in Kent" for this announcement! Our rep has done us some good here as we are getting a prime ESPN2 slot. Check on the main MAC board for more info.

Great matchup! Wish I could be there, but I'll have to settle for tape delay. The MACC will be rockin' for this one! 04-rock

Should be a great game. What a coup for the Flashes!!

Did some comparisons between The Flashes and The Blue Jays:

Projected NCAA seed: Kent 12 Creighton -on their way out!
RPI: Kent 58.03 Creighton - 56.8
SOS: Kent 162 Creighton 279
Non Conferences SOS: Kent 261 Creighton 272
Wins v. Top 25: Kent 0-1 ( BC) Creighton dnp top 25

Creighton's big MVC rival is SIU. Don't think they play until late in the season, which may explain the weaker SOS to date. We both beat SMS - Flashes by 1, Blue Jays by 4.

One hell of a game on tap with Flashes coming out on top!! Feel it!!

There was a buzz on campus today after the announcement. The MAC will be packed so get your tickets early for this one. Couldn't have asked for a better matchup though. 04-rock

Gotta love that Creighton match-up! I remember last year for the Hawaii game. We got to the MACC a half hour early and the place was already packed. The student sections were buzzing with anticipation well before the game started. I can't wait to see it this year. We have some huge home games left this year to pack the MACC again. I believe were currently second behind Toledo for home attendance in conference. We should be on top by the end.

BTW, the Redhawks lost in OT to OU 67-64 tonight. I went to the JAR to watch the Zippers drill the Thundering Nerds. :snore:

On to N. Ill 04-drinky GO FLASHES!!!

Hello Kent State fans,

A Creighton fan here. I must say that our fans share the enthusiasm for this matchup that you all seem to have. While there was talk a couple weeks ago of ESPN extracting Gonzaga from their Tulsa commitment, I believe this game is beneficial to both of us and should be a great game.

We're 16-2 right now and 8-2 in the MVC going into tonight's game vs Northern Iowa in Omaha. We're behind SIU in the standings right now, but we have yet to play them so far. In fact, Saturday's game vs Southern in Omaha will be on ESPN2 at 3PM ET, so that can give you guys an opportunity to see what our team looks like. On the Bracketology stuff, most services keep predicting that the Missouri Valley will be a one-bid conference, even though that hasn't been the case for 5-6 years. IMHO, I fully expect somehow for it to shake out that both us and Southern make the Field.

Generally, this year, our strength has been our inside post players. With 3 5th-year seniors that play either in the 4 or 5 spot, we've generally looked to get the ball down low first and work from there most of the year. That said, our backcourt has really come on in the past few games, and while we don't have our All-American shooter from last year, we can shoot the rock when need be.

I fully expect a tough and exciting game like we were able to have last years with Fresno State. Good luck and see you on the 21st!

sounds like big john will finally have some competition in the post(doesn't seem to be any in the MAC). like i've said in other posts i worry about our depth in the post when edwards needs a breather. cutley has been coming on though which is a very good sign.
