I thought I would share this column written by David Climer of The Tennessean. With major programs raiding our coaches over the last few years, Kent might want to follow WKU's exit plan when Christian decides to go.

WKU's innovative exit plan with Felton could catch on

Commentary by DAVID CLIMER
Senior Writer

Wood Selig knows a good coach when he sees one. He knows a good coach when he hires one. And he knows a good coach when he loses one.

It comes with the turf of being the athletic director at a school such as Western Kentucky, where they hang the title mid-major on you. The more success one of your sports has, the less likely you'll be able to retain that coach.

''Our goal is to always have coaches that are extremely attractive to other schools around the country,'' Selig said. ''In the event the grass is greener somewhere else, we want to protect ourselves.''

It was no shock, then, when Dennis Felton started getting mentioned for prime jobs elsewhere. Last season, Felton took Western Kentucky to a third straight NCAA tournament. Young, charismatic and successful, Felton was on the fast track.

Georgia called. Felton answered. And Western Kentucky lost a coach

I love it. That's the best idea i've heard in years.

I would love to see Waters and Heath come back to the MAC center and i guarantee both would get great receptions from the fans and loss to go with it. Too bad neither of them will schedule a game with us.

Sounds like a great idea to me. It would take some of the sting out of losing your coach.
