No doubt that line up could and will appear together at times I would like to see Edwin at the 2 spot and Brown, Cudley and Gerwig along the front. I see Gates off the bench but more often. You need someone to bring instant offense off the bench. Gates can do that. I also hear that the new recruits are very athletic and can shoot. Tradition never graduates. 04-rock

I also thought of the same starting line-up but chose Gates instead of Brown because I think that next year Gates is really going to be good. Starting Brown would obviously give Kent more muscle inside and would add height to an undersized front line.

Starting Gerwig, Edwin, Cutley, Haynes, and Gates would provide an opportunity for Kent to play

yes, next year looks VERY PROMISING!! the returning players are reason enough to be very optimistic about next year.. let alone these 3 outstanding recruits!!

Isaac Knight
6-7, 205, forward, Detroit, Mich./Crockett H.S.
Knight averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game his junior season

Marcus Crenshaw
5-10, 165, Guard, Detroit, Mich./Mackenzie H.S.
He averaged 29 points and six rebounds last year

Michael Scott
6-6, 180, forward, Indianapolis, Ind./Northwest H.S.
He's got some of the longest arms in the business.
Scott is long and athletic with the ability to play score from the outside or off the dribble

Speaking of the new recruits, Michael Scott, at 6-6 or 6-5 and 180 lbs., will most likely be redshirted next year. Scott is a player with all kinds of potential but will obviously need to gain considerable weight and strength if he wants to make a major contribution to the team. Although Scott is very skinny, he is reported to have a good jumper from 3-point land and has arms that are long enough to be a great defender. The Insiders state that Scott is one of those young men who has all kinds of potential and suggest that Scott is sort of a mid-major Darius Rice, the 6-10 senior forward for the University of Miami.

The other two recruits, Marcus Crenshaw , a 5

Yes we do. Former players Andrew Mitchell (Detroit, Mich./East Catholic) and Ed Norvell (Detroit, Mich./Murray-Wright) also came from the Motor City.

nashville and GF68,

Either line up is an embarrasment of riches. This season is so much fun that I'm not rushing it - but both of you offer line ups with the potential to be GREAT. Both have 2 or 3 All MAC potential players. Honestly, I assume Brown will continue to develop and Gerwig will return, but if true..we'll have a stud in every position.

Let's enjoy this year. But thanks for the posts about what's ahead. For the first time as a Kent fan, I can honestly say "Bring it!" when thinking ahead to '04-'05 hoops. 04-rock

Based on those lineups, how about if we add:

WE DON'T REBUILD! WE RELOAD! 04-rock

Not to belabor the point made earlier about Kent having a pipeline from Detroit but Antonio Gates, who transferred to Kent from College of the Sequoias in California is also from Detroit, Mich.(Central) as well as one of my all time favorite players, Anthony Grier (East Catholic H..S.) who was a unanimous pick to the All-MAC First Team and also received All-America honorable mention in the 1984-85 season.

There are probably more basketball players from Detroit who wore the blue and gold (not maze and blue) over the years but it is hard to remember them all.

Thanks Detroit for all of your great players!
