What, NO ONE is going to mention the no FieldTurf for football because it hurts FIELD HOCKEY comment? Come on now, can anyone argue that this is a good idea? Field hockey drives the investment decision here? :(

I'll bite, Flash. The Field Hockey Team is the reigning MAC Champion. Maybe Laing is rewarding success.
Seriously, I like the fact that there is such a commitment to having a balanced athletics program at KSU. It fits the role of sports in an educational environment, which I think is to provide student athletes in all sports the opportunity to achieve their highest potential in their game and in the classroom. I'm glad we are not a one trick pony.
Plus, I'm glad we have an AD who can say "no" to a coach of a high profile sport. I bet the University of Colorado wished it had an AD who could say "no" to Gary Barnett.
